Opening Reception: Thursday, June 2 at 8:30pm

Tomorrow is another day, Tomorrow is not another today features work by Greek and Canadian artists that suggests ways to think of the past, present, and future. metamatic:taf‘s historic rooms are transformed by the artists using sculpture, printmaking, textiles, site-specific installations, and immersive audio/video environments.

The curators Vivi Perysinaki (Greece) and Scott McGovern (Canada) have invited artists from their respective countries to participate, creating a cross-cultural dialogue, presented for the international audience visiting metamatic:taf in Monastiraki. The exhibition functions on several layers to surprise, provoke discussion, and pose questions about what life was, is, or will be.

The past is an anchor that places us in the present. The present may appear to be resolute, offering no escape, but it is the place to alter the future. Art often redefines the limits and expectations set by society, and can be windows to reveal new ideas and realities. Every time something comes to an end, something new can begin.

Thank you to the Canada Council for the Arts for supporting this exhibition.
